This process of sending frankencultures from niche cultural status to mainstream status begins when the frankenculture is broken down into percentages, and reiterated into an ‘acceptable’ cultural artefact- acceptable in that it’s already currently existing.
Some examples of such artefacts that have been through this process are Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, the willow plate and the National Anthem.
This frankenculture item masquerading as something ‘acceptable’ is then able to enter into discussions with gatekeepers and hopefully enter into mainstream cultural status.
